President and Co-Founder
Laura Hash
Laura Hash grew up in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She returned to East Tennessee in 2006 after spending a little over a decade away earning her bachelor’s and law degree. She has spent the majority of her career either teaching or practicing in child advocacy areas of law. After struggling with infertility for years, Laura was led to become a foster parent and was fortunate enough to adopt her beautiful twin girls less than a year later. When she isn’t working, Laura focuses on her now tween girls, her gentle giant Great Dane, and her amazing friends and family. Laura loves all things Christmas and derives immense pleasure in sharing the joy and magic the holiday season can encompass with everyone around her. And, as you might imagine, Christmas does not even feel like Christmas anymore, without our annual Santa’s Elves Christmas party.
Vice-President and Co-Founder
Sarah Booher
Sarah Booher is the youngest daughter of an Episcopal priest, Sarah, was raised in a home that put a high value on service to others. She moved to Knoxville in January 2005 and quickly figured out there was no place in the world she’d rather be. An urban and regional planner turned attorney, Sarah has no children of her own, preferring instead to focus her time on her spoiled dog and helping the children of East Tennessee through this and other non-profits in the area, including Gennisi Charitable Birth Services (for whom she also serves as legal counsel). She is a monthly contributor to the Knoxville Bar Association’s Dicta Editorial Board and the Chancellor of her church. She loves driving around every holiday season, looking at community Christmas decorations and lights. Her favorite Christmas gifts to receive are books, puzzles, and Sharpie pens and markers.
Secretary and Treasurer
Barbara Langley
Barbara Langley grew up in Ash Grove, Missouri. She and her husband moved to East Tennessee in 1977 for her husband’s job. She has been passionate about children and those in need since she was a young girl. She was raised to appreciate that there were those less fortunate than herself and she always enjoys sharing with others and turning strangers into family with her caring nature and warmth. She has enjoyed a long career in the mental health industry, working with providers and patients alike for over thirty years. Barbara loves Christmas because of her sincere love of Christ and the joy and magic of the season that she feels all around her. Her love of the season grew when she was gifted with a healthy baby girl on Christmas morning many many years ago (that’s Laura, by the way!). Barbara expresses her love for Christmas by being the master wrapper for the annual Christmas party for the children. Her precision, patience, and diligence in wrapping hundreds of gifts every year is a revered skill and she in an integral member of the team.
