Our Vision

To give all children living in the foster care system in East Tennessee the opportunity to be a child and experience the joy of Christmas.

In a state with ever-increasing numbers of children entering the foster care system and fewer families serving as foster care homes, Santa Elves, Inc. accepts and coordinates community resources to provide these children with gifts at an annual party, so that they will know the love of their community, the security of belonging, and the magic of Christmas.

Mission

Core Values

Community – We believe community is the foundation of a heathy society, where diverse people can revel and thrive in both their diversity and their shared attitude and interest to further a common goal.

Support – We believe that collective support can achieve more than the work of any individual and that our East Tennessee communities are always willing to show their volunteer spirit.

Belonging – We believe every child experiencing foster care deserves to fit in with their peers and feel the excitement and joy that comes with receiving the newest and brightest toys and gifts.

Joy – We believe, like Brené Brown said, that twinkle lights are the perfect metaphor for joy.  “Joy is not a constant. It comes to us in moments – often ordinary moments. . . gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude, inspiration, and faith.”
